I’m in the process of making myself some new sketchbooks, playing around with different types of paper and formats.
Some of the paper I’m recovering from long abandoned sketch pads, so not everything is a standard size. As a result I’m making some tiny sketchbooks from the leftovers.
So far I’ve made seven of these. One is for a friend and I’m thinking of randomly giving the others away when I’m out sketching.
Of course I also needed a subject to sketch for our Sunday Zoom session. You can guess what I used as my subject.

Thanks Claudia, I will keep making the little books. I’ve started binding the two bigger books which , fingers π€ I’ll be using when we travel later in the year.

What a great idea. How do you make the little books – I see fabric and glue. Are staples involved or sewing?

The big books are sewn with cardboard covers with cloth over the top. The small books are the left over strip’s of paper, only 8 cms wide. They have two layers of paper glued together – thick paper from an old atlas – and then I have stapled those with my long arm stapler.

The long armed stapler is probably the key. Iwas wondering if your sewed them togetner, that’s all!

My partner is currently sewing a whole series of tiny books together! As mine were definitely on the scrappy side I felt no compunction about using the stapler
