Abandon

The exhibition ABANDON shows work made from pieces of cloth and remnants of material that are embroidered using free and playful versions of traditional embroidery stitches.

The title plays on many of the meanings that this word encompasses. It refers to the fact that virtually all the cloth used in the exhibition was found on the street or given to the artist, as were many of the threads used in the stitching. The title also refers to my way of making stitches in an impulsive and playful way.

ABANDON is an exhibition of work born from lockdown limitations and the concepts of re-use and up-cycling.

You can find a video of the making of ‘Radiant X’, as shown above here.
