Yesterday (20 November 2017) we went for a pleasant walk around our local landmark Black Mountain. A walking track circles it below the summit. The walk is posted as taking 45 minutes to complete, but allowing for stopping to botanise and sketch we managed the circumnambulation at a cracking two hours and ten minutes!

That telecommunications tower looked like some thing out of Star Wars, maybe that’s because I wasnt expecting it!! lol!

It certainly does! It was very controversial when it was built in the late 1970’s as part of our ‘garden city plan’ all bushland above 600 metres is meant to be free of buildings. I recall one cartoon that had it blasting off from the top of the mountain.
