What are you using as a surface layer to stitch? Is it cloth? Your layers beautifully echo the bark of the trees.

Thanks Emma. The cloth I am stitching on is some that I have printed on a gelli plate. I have fallen in love with this simple approach to monoprinting.

Yes! It’s so interesting what we observe subconsciously, yet when we examine why we do what we do as you have here, it seems obvious. What a beautiful tree by the way!

Thanks Anna! That is one of the two street trees at the front of our block, Eucalyptus mannifera , aka White Brittle Gum. Apart from their beautiful white trunks they put on this amazing display of colour just before they shed their bark. Not only do they go this bright crimson, but they also turn deep ilive green.
